A delegation of the Regional Development Committee toured The Yards Washington, DC, development, bounded by the Anacostia Riverfront to the south, Nationals Ballpark to the west, the historic Navy Yard to the east, and Capitol Hill to the north. With 2,800 residential units, 1.8 million square feet of new offices, and 400,000 square feet of retail/dining space, the Yards is helping to lead the transformation of the Capitol riverfront area into a world-class green space to live and work. Forest City Washington is the developer and the tour was led by Ramsey Meiser, Senior Vice President of Development.
Ramsey led the tour group through the Foundry Lofts Building, a residential property which was delivered in December of 2011. The Lofts Building luxury loft-style apartments offer a sweeping view of the river and the city, an array of dining choices in the neighborhood, a courtyard, interior parking, close proximity to the Navy Yard Metro stop, and even a civil-war era canon that was rescued from the USS Raritan.
Forest City specializes in revitalizing large-scale, under-utilized urban sites, and transforming them into exciting, mixed-use urban destinations.
