SIGAL Construction Corporation selected to convert the existing 10 story neo-classical Kiplinger Editor's Building, built in 1950, into a 116 room Hampton Inn hotel for Palmetto Hospitality of Washington DC II, LLC. The design is by Gordon & Greenberg Architects. Working within a tight 10 month schedule, the new Hampton Inn at 1729 H Street, Washington, DC, will receive new mechanical electrical and plumbing systems, a natural gas generator, 2 new elevators, replacement of windows, extension of the mezzanine area, a new indoor pool and the build-out of new guest rooms and public areas.
SIGAL is targeting a LEED® Silver certification, embracing Palmetto's commitment to sustainability. Delivery is set for early 2013.
