SIGAL Construction Corporation /Keystone Plus, A Joint Venture has been selected to construct the new Carlos Rosario Annex in Washington, DC for Community Capital Corporation.
Designed by Shinberg Levinas, the 48,000 gross square foot adult education charter school consists of three stories above grade and one level below grade. The structure will be cast-in-place concrete to grade level with a structural steel frame above. The building façade, a mixture of EIFS, glass and curtainwall with exterior thin-set tiling will create a modern feel to the facility.
The Carlos Rosario Annex will offer an array of classes within award-winning adult education programs, which are considered models at the national and international level. Courses will be taught by a distinguished faculty to include forty-two educators with advanced degrees and educational training. Class options will range from basic English Literacy and life skills necessary for successful introduction to American life, to Career Level English and professional certificate courses in technology and culinary arts.
LEED® Gold level certification is targeted for the project, with delivery set for Summer 2013.
