Washington, D.C. – Skanska USA, a leading provider of construction management, preconstruction, and design-build services, announced the hire of Raymond L. Hubbard, III as an account manager for its Washington D.C. metro area.
Hubbard brings more than 34 years of experience to Skanska, during which he has led joint venture agreements, developed lasting client relationships, negotiated mergers and acquisitions and facilitated an abundance of major projects for various industries, including transportation/civil, government/military, residential, office, sport and data center construction.
“Throughout his career, Ray has fully immersed himself in almost every project-type in every sector that we work in at Skanska; he brings a strong, unique skill-set, learned through working in the US and internationally, that is hard to come by in our industry,” said Bill Brennan, executive vice president and general manager for Skanska’s Washington D.C. region. “His experience coordinating joint ventures aligns perfectly with the type of work Skanska Civil conducts. Not only is Ray a smart, seasoned professional, he is ambitious and creative, and we are thrilled to welcome him to our greater Washington D.C. team.”
Before joining Skanska, Hubbard served as Senior Vice President for Clark Construction, where he worked on various substantial development projects throughout the Washington, D.C. region. He served as the project director/senior vice president in constructing an 82-acre National Geospatial Intelligence Facility in Fort Belvoir, Virginia for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Reston Town Center Phase I a 1.2 million square foot mixed-use center composed of theatres, shops, restaurants, two office buildings, a Hyatt Hotel, 3000 space parking garage, and all the streetscapes.
Additionally, Hubbard’s portfolio consists of 15 years in transportation and civil work including construction of the New Carrollton Metro Station in Maryland
Hubbard attended George Washington University for civil engineering, and graduated from the Wharton University Summer Executive Business Program. He’s also OSHA and CCHEST Safety Certified.
Skanska’s Washington D.C. office is a veteran in numerous areas of construction, including transportation, higher education and government. The office has completed or is currently working on significant projects throughout the nation’s capital and surrounding region, including the U.S. Census Bureau’s new 1.4 million-SF headquarters for the General Services Administration (GSA), the Camille Kendall Academic Center at the University of Maryland, a LEED Gold Certified building and the 11th Street Bridge for the D.C. District Department of Transportation. In April, Skanska announced they will construct the Downtown Tunnel/Midtown Tunnel/MLK Extension Project in Norfolk and Portsmouth, Virginia, a joint venture with Elizabeth River Crossings (ERC) for the Virginia Department of Transportation, which is Skanska’s first public-private partnership in the Unites States.
