Southland Industries, one of the nation's largest mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) building systems experts providing engineering, construction, service and energy service solutions, recently made the decision to unite its service and building automation controls departments into a single division, called Southland Service. Led by Executive Vice President Joe Cvetas, Southland Service will work to amplify the company’s service and building automation offerings.

Through a more focused and aligned approach, Southland Service will be able to offer customers the same capabilities and consistent quality experience no matter which region of the country they reside. Newly appointed Vice President of Service and Building Automation, Chris Lofaso, will oversee all service and controls related initiatives across the company and will be largely responsible for the growth of the new division.  Holding a master’s degree in executive leadership from the University of San Diego and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Cornell University, Mr. Lofaso comes to Southland with over 30 years of experience in the building technology industry. He is also a registered professional engineer.

“With a strong service and building automation background and a proven track record of running large service and automation operations, I have high expectations for Chris as he grows our service and controls business in the coming years. I am happy to have Chris on board with us and know his success in this role will be a direct effect of the passion he has for helping customers efficiently reach their goals,” stated Mr. Cvetas.

To assist in developing the strong relationships it takes for a service organization to succeed, Mr. Cvetas has also hired Ronan O’Mahony as Southland Service’s National Sales Manager of Service and Building Automation. In addition to concentrating on key customer relationships, Mr. O’Mahony will create and implement consistent sales strategies as well as identify new technologies and innovative service solutions for Southland’s customers.

“Our goal is to provide world-class service and make our customers’ lives easier by solving problems. By ensuring their buildings run more efficiently and reliably, we help manage the lifecycle of their buildings,” continued Mr. Cvetas.
