Arlington, VA — Tishman Construction Corporation, an AECOM company, is pleased to announce the recent addition of four professionals to its Mid-Atlantic Regional operations:

Steve Tapparo has joined Tishman as Vice President of Multifamily Residential.  Steve grew up in the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area and graduated from the University of Maryland.  He has focused his career on managing commercial residential projects, working for both Clark Realty Builders, LLC and Donohoe Construction Company.  He served as a Senior Project Manager for Balfour Beatty Construction Co., Director of Construction for Holladay Corporation, and V.P. of Construction for RKR Construction Co.  In his latest position with Bozzuto Construction Company, Steve recently completed a large-scale, mixed-use urban infill project in Upper Northwest Washington, DC, known as the Cathedral Commons.  Steve is a proven leader who is well-known and respected in the industry, and will be helping to grow and improve Tishman’s multi-family residential practice.

Craig Swanson is now Tishman’s Director of Preconstruction.  Craig will be working closely with Jerry Eubanks, Tishman’s V.P. of Preconstruction and Estimating, to provide world-class preconstruction services.  A native of Jamestown, New York, Craig graduated with both a Bachelor’s of Science in Physics and a Masters of Arts in Teaching from Hobart & William Smith Colleges, and he obtained a Masters in Business Administration from Loyola University in Maryland.  Thus far, Craig’s career has been primarily focused on commercial multifamily construction and residential renovation projects for the Bozzuto Construction Company.  Serving as a Project Engineer, an Assistant Project Manager, and then as a Project Manager, Craig helped to manage a multitude of commercial residential projects of various scales and complexity throughout the Washington DC Metropolitan Area for Bozzuto, before shifting his attention to Preconstruction Services.  As Tishman’s Director of Preconstruction, Craig will help to develop feasibility studies, prepare budgets, compile bid proposals, and procure subcontracts.

Matt Shea recently joined Tishman’s Preconstruction and Estimating Department as Senior Estimator.  Matt will be working closely with Jerry Eubanks and Craig Swanson to increase Tishman’s platform of preconstruction services.  Matt was raised and educated in New England.  He holds a Bachelor’s of Science from Providence College, and has worked in the construction and development industry for 28 years.  He started his career designing infrastructure and utility installations as an Assistant Civil Engineer for the Town of Shrewsbury, MA, before moving to the DC Area in 1993 to work as a Project Manager and Cost Estimator for William A. Hazel, Inc., a heavy civil contractor.   Building on his site and infrastructure experience, Matt then worked for several years in development, helping to oversee projects for ManorCare Health Services in Gaithersburg, MD, Sunrise Senior Living in McLean, VA, Newland Communities in Clarksburg, MD, and Monument Realty in Washington, DC, before becoming a Cost Engineer and Project Manager for Project Time & Cost, Inc. in Germantown, MD.   In 2011, Matt accepted a position with AECOM Technical Services as a Senior Associate and Cost Consultant where he fostered a relationship with Tishman, an AECOM Company, by providing estimating support and sharing cost data on several projects.  In early September, Matt became a full-time Tishman employee.

Dot Carver recently became Tishman’s Senior Contracts Manager.  Dot will be managing Tishman’s Subcontractor Prequalification Program and fine-tuning internal procedures to help manage risk and increase efficiencies.  Dot grew up in Alexandria, VA, attended Northern Virginia Community College to study Commercial Art & Photography and the University of Phoenix to study Business Management.   After a successful career as a Photographer, Dot changed her focus to Business Administration.  She has previously worked for Manhattan Construction and Foulger-Pratt Contracting.  Dot’s fifteen years in construction have afforded her a wide range of opportunities and experiences from the field to the main office.  A versatile team player, Dot has taken on a variety of roles over the years, providing support and expertise across all departments serving as a Field Office Manager, Contract Administrator, Office Administrator, Interim IT Manager, Prolog Administrator, Facility Security Officer and Manager of Administrative Support.  As a member of the Tishman Leadership Team, Dot will help to develop new policies and procedures, serve on the Training Committee, and help to manage Tishman’s Subcontractor Prequalification Program as well as numerous other strategic initiatives for the company.
