WASHINGTON – Balfour Beatty US has named George Kreis as vice president of business development and a member of its leadership team in the Mid-Atlantic. Kreis has more than 30 years of experience in the construction industry and his portfolio includes $2 billion of construction work in the Mid-Atlantic region. Notable projects include the National World War II Memorial and the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center.

Kreis joins Balfour Beatty from Manhattan Construction Company, where he served as senior vice president and division manager for its Mid-Atlantic division. Kreis has worked with other major construction companies in the Mid-Atlantic region throughout his career, developing new business opportunities, driving leads and diversifying project portfolios.

Kreis earned his B.S. in civil engineering from Bucknell University. He has served on the board of numerous local professional associations, including Associated Builders and Contractors of Metro Washington (ABC), D.C. Building Industry Association (DCBIA), Washington Building Congress (WBC), and Associated General Contractors of Metropolitan D.C. (AGC).
