Bethesda, MD – Arlington Partnership for Affordable Housing (APAH) hosted a Ground Breaking party for the Queens Court project at Barley Mac in Arlington on April 10, 2019. The project team and representatives from Donohoe Construction were in attendance to celebrate the start of the newest affordable housing project in the Donohoe portfolio.
“This is one of the coolest projects the DC area has seen in a while,” said Chairman of Arlington County Board, Christian Dorsey, in his speech at the event. “On a measly acre where there were 49 units there are going to be 249 units.”
According to APAH, “the redeveloped Queens Court will have a majority of two- and three-bedroom units for families earning 40-60% AMI. The site will also have 150 underground parking spaces. In addition, the redeveloped Queens Court will be barrier free, green, and certified EarthCraft Gold.”
The party was attended by public officials, Bank of America representatives, lawyers, and community representatives in addition to APAH and Donohoe staff. Said CEO of APAH, Nina Janopaul, “We’re excited to put this next phase on Donohoe.”
