WASHINGTON, D.C. — Animated Insights™ Inc., the leading provider of integrated smart building software solutions, has named Sam Wilson as Director of Business Development — Washington, D.C.

In this role, Sam will be responsible for increasing brand awareness, expanding customer engagement as well as leading all go-to-market activities in the D.C. market. He will work with customers, providing strategies through the AI: Twin digital twin platform to help solve efficiency and sustainability issues. AI: Twin is a master systems and solutions integration platform that ties together all aspects and variables of the built environment. Sam specializes in leveraging utility incentive programs to reduce out-of-pocket costs for clients. To date, he has enrolled approx. two dozen buildings in programs that resulted in over $2M in cash incentive payments for the D.C. Metro area clients.
Sam’s background includes over 14 years of experience working directly with building owners and operators, identifying cost-effective ways to reduce energy consumption, increase tenant comfort, and improve indoor air quality. He started his career in property & facilities management, working in the private sector operations department of the Ronald Reagan Building a block from the White House. In 2014, he transitioned into the field of energy management, building automation system sales, and cloud-based software solutions, specializing in the optimization of buildings through precise control.
“I love working with property owners and building engineers to lower operating expenses and increase asset value. More importantly, I help customers explore ways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to mitigate global climate change,” said Sam.
In his spare time, Sam loves to play golf and Texas Hold ’em, take long hikes with his wife, two daughters, and their dog through their Northern Virginia community’s 375-acre nature preserve, and volunteer wherever he can make a positive impact on the world.
