Baltimore, MD – The law firm of Ober|Kaler is pleased to announce that Barbara G. Werther, a principal in the firm’s Construction Group, has been named a Fellow of the American College of Construction Lawyers. She is one of only ten lawyers from Washington DC to receive this honor.
Fellowship is extended by invitation to those who are found to have mastered the practice or the teaching of construction law and dispute resolution in the complex technical and legal fields pertaining to the built environment, whose professional careers have been marked by the highest standards of ethical conduct, scholarship, professionalism and collegiality, and who have demonstrated a commitment to ‘give back’ to the construction industry. The College has a limited membership of fewer than 200 lawyers from the United States, Canada, Britain, Australia, and France.
Barbara Werther has more than thirty years of experience in construction and government contracts law. She holds numerous leadership positions in legal and industry associations, and most recently was appointed to the Steering Committee for the American Bar Association (“ABA”) Construction Forum Division 13 on Government Construction Contracts, a newly created division. She is a presenter at the upcoming Annual Construction Superconference in Las Vegas, NV, and is co-authoring a chapter for an upcoming ABA Construction Forum handbook on scheduling techniques. She is also on the faculty of the ABA Construction Forum Trial Advocacy program, which has been held only twice, in 2012 and 2013. Since 2006 she has been a faculty member of the National Institute of Trial Advocacy. Ms. Werther has been recognized as one of the leading construction and government contracts attorneys in the US in the most recent editions of the Best Lawyers in America, Chambers USA, Super Lawyers, Washington DC Area’s Best Lawyers and The International Who’s Who of Construction Lawyers. In 2006, she co-founded the Women in Construction Conference, a program held annually in Washington DC, and featuring the most well-respected women in construction as panelists. She is one of only 15 women named in the International Who’s Who of Construction Lawyers.
