Rockville, MD – For the fourth consecutive year, DAVIS held their Annual Charity Golf Tournament at Cattail Creek Country Club in Glenwood, MD. They welcomed 131 participants representing 34 subcontractor and industry partners. With the help of generous sponsors over $60,000 was raised.
This year, the proceeds were donated to two longtime nonprofit partners of DAVIS, Nonprofit Village of Rockville and Special Olympics DC. Nonprofit Village provides affordable office space, services, and collaboration opportunities to over 30 nonprofit organizations in the DC region. Special Olympics DC offers sports and health programs at no cost to more than 1,600 children and adults with intellectual disabilities in the district. DAVIS Vice President, Matt Weirich, who also chairs the annual tournament, said, “We have a deep connection to these organizations. DAVIS and our employees have supported them for several years and nothing feels better than presenting them both with a check that I know will support their important work in our communities.”
At the end of the tournament, DAVIS invited participants, sponsors, and guests to a special dinner accompanied by a closing program. Kim Jones, Executive Director at Nonprofit Village, John Camp, Nonprofit Village Board Member, and Nicole Preston, President + CEO of Special Olympics DC, were on hand to accept checks on their organizations’ behalf. “DAVIS demonstrates their belief that corporate responsibility extends beyond the bottom line and we’re very proud to have them as a partner,” Jones said.
