Rockville, MD – Insurance Associates are very excited to announce the hire of four new associates to our team: Shannon Batson, Joel Cisneros, Jennifer Monteiro, and Kimberly Rusnak.
Shannon Batson – A 1995 graduate of George Mason University, Shannon's career originated as head of Marketing at a niche insurance agency in Leesburg, VA. Building her knowledge in the industry, she moved on to Frederick, MD to work as a Commercial Account Manager for large contractors and municipalities and successfully completed her CIC designation. With over 16 years of industry experience, she is very happy to make her home at Insurance Associates as a Commercial Underwriter and focus on serving the needs of her clients.
Joel Cisneros – Graduating from George Mason University Joel began his career as an Account Executive. In a little over 2 years, he continued his path as a sales consultant and achieved success implementing e-mail device and server software. He went on to earn his series 7, 31, 66, and CA licenses while at Morgan Stanley, and shortly after returning to VA his journey brought him to Insurance Associates. Joel is pleased to join the team as a Benefits Consultant. His 11 years of experience guiding employers and employees through the complex process of benefits selection will allow him to truly serve our clients.
Jennifer Monteiro – Jennifer graduated from Towson University in 2007 and began her career working for a bank. Shortly after she decided to take a job as a receptionist for a small insurance brokerage in Germantown and obtained her Property and Casualty license. There she became the personal lines assistant. She then moved to an agency in Rockville where she handled her own book of business. In late 2012 her journey brought her to Insurance Associates where she works as an Assistant Underwriter for Commercial Insurance. Her tasks include helping to process endorsements, audits, and check policies. She is excited to expand her commercial insurance knowledge at IA.
Kimberly Rusnak – Kimberly holds a B.A. in Sociology from Wake Forest University and recently completed her graduate studies at the University of Pittsburgh, where she received a Master in Social Work and a Master in Public and International Affairs. Kimberly has worked with a variety of non-profits and spent three years working with the United States Peace Corps in Senegal. This position at Insurance Associates is Kimberly's first position as she transitions into the world of insurance.
