Owings, MD – In November 2014, Kelly Generator & Equipment, Inc., the Mid Atlantic distributor of Generac Power Systems, partnered with Ennis Electric, an industry leading electrical contractor in the Washington, DC region, to supply eight Generac MG400kW natural gas generators to the Museum of the Bible.
The 430,000-square-foot Museum of the Bible is an innovative, global, educational institution that aims to provide an unparalleled experience by creating one of the world’s most technological advanced museums.
The installation of the generators called for some specific on-site conditions. The MG400kW natural gas units were able to meet a smaller footprint of enclosed space on the roof of the building by taking advantage of the room height available and mounting four units on a steel structure over the other four units. Four of the 400kW generators provide life safety application requirements and the remaining generators backup climate control systems to preserve the museum’s priceless Biblical relics.
The partnership of Kelly Generator & Equipment, Inc. and Ennis Electric, along with Generac’s expertise in design and application of natural gas generators and digital paralleling technology, were an ideal fit for the installation of this application.
