Washington, DC – Michael C. Zisa, a partner with the national construction law firm Peckar & Abramson, P.C. (P&A), has been selected as a Fellow of the Construction Lawyers Society of America (CLSA). The CLSA describes itself as is an invitation-only international honorary association with membership limited to 1,200 practicing Fellows focusing in construction law and related fields. According to CLSA, lawyers are selected and invited into Fellowship after being evaluated for effectiveness and accomplishment in construction law, along with ethical reputation.

About Michael C. Zisa
Mike represents general contractors, sureties, subcontractors and owners in litigation before federal and state courts in Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia, as well as various contract appeals boards and in alternative dispute resolution forums. Although well-versed in the litigation process, Mike regularly assists and counsels clients to avoid litigation when possible through planning and preemptive actions including contract review and negotiation, contract administration assistance and claim analysis and development. Mike also serves as Chair of P&A’s Surety and Construction Related Insurance Defense Practice.
Mike assists construction clients on public and private projects ranging from prosecution and defense of breach of contract and request for equitable adjustment claims to payment bond, performance bond and mechanic’s lien claims. His work for surety clients includes analysis and defense of payment bond and performance bond claims, negotiation and administration of takeover arrangements and prosecution of subrogation and indemnity actions. Mike has been named to the Washington, D.C. Super Lawyers list since 2014 and is a member of the National Association of Surety Bond Producers Attorney Advisory Council. He received his J.D. from Seton Hall University, School of Law, and his B.A. from Susquehanna University. Mike and his wife are the proud parents of three wonderful children, and he spends his free time coaching youth sports.
