Arlington, VA — SIGAL Construction Corporation has been selected to construct the new Hampton Inn & Suites Washington DC Ballpark located at 1st and N Streets SE for The Buccini/Pollin Group. Located directly across from the Nationals Ballpark, the new 98,000 SF hotel is designed to fit into the modern architecture of the Navy Yard neighborhood.
The new Hampton Inn & Suites was designed by BBGM and is a thirteen-story concrete structure with 168 hotel rooms. The construction will incorporate a kitchen with new equipment for food prep, a breakfast room, meeting space, hotel offices, lobby, fitness room, employee break room, laundry, and loading dock area. A rooftop bar and terrace will highlight the neighboring scenic views. A unique element of the hotel is a porcelain tile rain screen.
The Navy Yard neighborhood, once an industrial district, has experienced a surge in redevelopment in recent years. Serviced by the Navy Yard-Ballpark Metro station and I-395, these transportation conveniences have attracted businesses and residents to this lively area.
SIGAL also provided preconstruction services on the project. LEED® Silver certification is being targeted.
