Arlington, VA — On Thursday, November 6th, more than 150 people joined SIGAL Construction Corporation in celebrating the Topping Out of the Hampton Inn & Suites Washington, DC Ballpark located at 1st and N Streets SE. The new 98,000 SF hotel is designed to fit into the modern architecture of the Navy Yard neighborhood.
Owned by The Buccini/Pollin Group, the new Hampton Inn & Suites was designed by BBGM and is a thirteen story concrete structure with 168 hotel rooms. The construction incorporates a kitchen with equipment for food prep, breakfast room, meeting space, hotel offices, lobby, fitness room, employee break room, laundry, and loading dock area. A rooftop bar and terrace will highlight the neighboring scenic views, including the Nationals Park (immediately next door), the Washington Monument and the United States Capitol Building. A unique element of the hotel is a porcelain tile rain screen.
SIGAL also provided preconstruction services on the project. LEED® Silver certification is being targeted.
