The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency HQ Becomes GHT Limited’s 23rd LEED® Platinum Project

Arlington, VA – GHT Limited (GHT), a leading DC metro area mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineering firm, is pleased to announce its 23rd LEED Platinum project, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) Headquarters in Washington, DC. The 605,000 SF interior fit-out was led by Kramer Consulting, designed by Gensler, and built by DAVIS Construction. GHT provided MEP engineering design.

OCC’s Headquarters earned 87 points in the LEED for Commercial Interiors™ rating system, and is one of the largest interior fit-outs in the District of Columbia to achieve Platinum certification. The team utilized Revit® MEP building information modeling (BIM) software for the project.

GHT’s design created a 56% reduction in HVAC energy use and lowered the lighting power density 38.5% below ASHRAE 90.1 requirements. Sustainable design features include a highly efficient active chilled beam HVAC system, occupancy and vacancy sensors, thermostats for every private office, time clock control to initiate automatic shutdown of lighting outside of building hours, and multi-zone lighting control in conference rooms and multiple occupant spaces.
