The SK&A Group Announces 2012 Promotions and New Hires:

Seth Rogge, PE, promoted to Associate.
As an Associate, Rogge manages structural engineering services for many project types.  His diverse experience provides him with the background to incorporate complex project requirements into an organized design, fulfilling the aesthetic requirements of our clients.  Rogge’s recent projects include the award-winning NRUCFC Headquarters, Liberty Center, and The Louis at 14th and U.  As SK&A’s Director of Building Information Modeling, he has been instrumental in developing the firm’s BIM capabilities and serves as a member of the Revit Advisory Committee of the Revit DC Users Group.  Rogge received his bachelor and master degree from George Washington University.  He is currently pursuing a PhD in structural engineering at the University of Maryland, in addition to serving as a guest researcher at the National Institute of Standards and Technology.

Scott Kabat, PE, promoted to Senior Project Manager.
As a Senior Project Manager, Kabat brings over 15 years of structural design experience to a diverse range of projects.  He specializes in large mixed-use projects, corporate headquarters with tenant build-outs, and medical/laboratory facilities. Kabat is skilled in the integration and application of BIM/Revit within his projects. His recent notable projects include the redevelopment of Mid-Pike Plaza known as Pike & Rose, The Tower Buildings, and the DARPA Headquarters at Founders Square.  He earned both his bachelor and master degrees in structural engineering from the University of Notre Dame.

Jeffrey Schalk, PE, promoted to Project Manager.
A wood-framed construction and seismic design specialist at SK&A, Schalk supervises, manages and provides structural concepts, structural engineering analysis, final drawings, specifications, construction coordination and contract administration services for a range of new, renovation and expansion projects.  His 12-year design portfolio includes office, commercial, mixed-use, residential, academic, institutional, and healthcare facilities, as well as the design and retrofit of many challenging projects.  He received his bachelor degree in architectural engineering from California Polytechnic State Institute. 

Joshua Woolcock, PE, LEED AP, promoted to Project Manager & Assistant Director of Building Information Modeling.
Woolcock is a structural engineer specializing in finite element computer modeling and component design of gravity and lateral systems, progressive collapse and blast resistant structures for SK&A. A primary point-of-contact for select projects, he manages analysis, design and CA for new construction and major renovations of multi-story office buildings, parking structures, mixed-use projects, hotels and high-rise residential buildings.  His notable projects include Turnberry Tower and 55 M Street. He also trains fellow design team members, assisting with the integration and application of BIM/Revit within projects.  He is a graduate of Penn State University with a bachelor and master degree in architectural engineering.

Charmaine Josiah, hired as Marketing and Business Development Manager.
As SK&A’s Marketing and Business Development Manager, Josiah works with the firm’s leadership team to identify and pursue project opportunities as well as cultivate new and existing clientele. With over 18 years of corporate communication and business administrative experience, she brings a well-rounded building industry background in disciplines including civil and environmental engineering and architecture.
