Vincent “Cap” Mona, Chairman of the Board of Mona Electric Group, Inc., is the 2012 recipient of the Catholic Business Network (CBN) – Home Town Hero Award. Mona accepted the award during CBN’s April 30th banquet, hosted at the Greenbelt Marriott, by the CBN Network of Prince George’s County. A 40 year resident of Prince George’s County, Mona is known for his philanthropic spirit locally and across the country. As the founder of Christmas in April, in Prince George’s & Charles Counties, “Cap” Mona has been serving the community by assisting families in-need since 1988. Mona proudly accepted the honor of the Home Town Hero Award as he recalled the importance that a Catholic education had in his life. Mona continues to support the education of local youth via his many personal contributions and scholarship vehicles, such as the Susan and Andrew Mona Foundation.
