Cherylyn Harley LeBon is bringing her 25-plus years of congressional, executive branch and private sector legal experience to the Washington, DC office of Cohen Seglias as a partner and co-chair of the firm’s Government Contracting Group.

From shepherding federal judicial nominees as senior counsel to the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee to successful leadership appointments at the Small Business Administration (SBA) and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Cherylyn’s decades of leadership experience in DC and abroad, greatly deepening the capabilities in the DC office of Cohen Seglias and bolstering the firm’s key practice areas. Cherylyn was previously a partner at an Am Law 100 firm.

Cherylyn navigates clients through complex regulatory frameworks and advises on a wide range of government contracting matters, regulatory compliance, and corporate issues. She has served as a Presidential appointee at the SBA and the VA, giving her deep knowledge about processes and programs including 8(a), SDVOSB, WOSB, and HUBZone certifications.

Cherylyn also advises clients on corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, banking transactions, employment policies, corporate governance, and complex contracts. Before entering private practice, Cherylyn served as President and CEO of KLAR Strategies, providing high-level business counsel to mid-sized firms, technology firms, and corporate boards. She also served as senior counsel to the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee, advising on judicial nominations, civil rights, and oversight of the U.S. Department of Justice.

Cherylyn earned her J.D. from the University of Wisconsin School of Law and her B.A. from Canisius College. She serves on several corporate and non-profit boards including Visit Fairfax and the Capital Business Development Association, an organization supporting small and scaling government contracts throughout the Washington, DC metro area.
