The project is targeting LEED\u00ae Gold, WELL Core V2 Gold and WiredScore Gold certifications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur team has done an outstanding job completing the complicated excavation and concrete building process to achieve the topping-out milestone at 3901 Fairfax,\u201d said Dale Kopnitsky, executive vice president for Skanska Building\u2019s Washington, DC operations. \u201cWe are inspired and look forward to delivering this modern, sustainable and dynamic office building.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The topping-out ceremony, a tradition passed down for generations throughout the construction industry, honors the construction team\u2019s hard work and signals a time of celebration for the progress made on a project. The effort to achieve the milestone is highlighted by the following:&nbsp;<br>\u2022 More than 100,000 man hours have been worked to date.<br>\u2022 1,780 truckloads of concrete have been used.<br>\u2022 41% embodied carbon reduction was achieved, compared to traditional concrete construction, using the Embodied Carbon in Construction Calculator (EC3) tool, co-conceived by Skanska.<br>The 201,000-square-foot building designed by CallisonRTKL will be the first WELL Precertified new construction project in Northern Virginia. Once completed in 2024, the project will feature daylighting and electric lighting systems designed to increase alertness and an enhanced experience for occupants. Building with the tenant\u2019s health and well-being in mind, the property\u2019s amenities include more than 12,000- square feet of outdoor space across a rooftop terrace, private tenant terraces a plaza, conference space, and a modern fitness facility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c3901 Fairfax will set the standard for meaningful workplaces,\u201d said Mark Carroll, executive vice president and regional manager of Skanska USA Commercial Development\u2019s D.C. market. \u201cFrom the park-like plaza with inviting retail space to the indoor outdoor biophilic design \u2013 we are creating a one-of-a-kind experience for future occupants to enjoy this dynamic Arlington neighborhood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ideally situated along the amenity-rich Rosslyn-Ballston Corridor, the development is surrounded by popular restaurants, high-end retail and green space, including Quincy Park.
