Rockville, MD – For the sixth consecutive year, James G. Davis Construction Corporation (DAVIS)<\/strong> held their Annual Charity Golf Tournament at Cattail Creek Country Club in Glenwood, MD. They welcomed 136 participants representing 36 subcontractor and industry partners, and with the help of generous sponsors, over $65,000 was raised.<\/p>\n This year, the proceeds were donated to two nonprofit partners of DAVIS, Calvary Women\u2019s Services<\/a> and the American Heart Association<\/a>. Calvary provides services that ensure homeless women in the Washington, D.C. area have access to housing, health, education, and employment programs, and the American Heart Association funds scientific research to help in the public awareness and prevention of cardiovascular diseases. DAVIS Vice President, Matt Weirich<\/a>, who also chairs the annual tournament, said, \u201cWe are proud to partner with these organizations. DAVIS and our employees have a deep connection to their missions, and it\u2019s very meaningful to be able to support their important work that benefits our communities.\u201d<\/p>\n At the end of the tournament, DAVIS invited participants, sponsors, and guests to a special dinner accompanied by a closing program. Kris Thompson, CEO of Calvary Women\u2019s Services and J.P. Wiley, Senior Director of Development at American Heart Association were on hand to accept checks on their organizations’ behalf. \u201cAt Calvary Women\u2019s Services, we\u2019re committed to empowering homeless women in Washington, DC to transform their lives and live independently.
