\tWith sadness in our hearts, WBC shares the news of the passing of John Joseph McCarthy<\/strong> “JJ” on December 8, 2021. Preceded by his parents, John and Yvette McCarthy. Survived by wife Tara; brother Kevin (Juvy); sister Michele (Najim); nieces Kaycie and Janna, nephews Adam and Haris.<\/p>\n \tJJ began his career in the construction industry in 1988 with Glen Construction. In 1998, JJ joined Hubert Construction and eventually became the firm’s President and CEO. JJ formed his own construction management firm in 2009 and oversaw the development of several projects including the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Headquarters for Virginia. In 2014, JJ joined Tishman Construction as Vice President of Preconstruction and Estimating.<\/p>\n \tAfter graduating from Langley High School in McLean, JJ attended and graduated from Virginia Tech in 1986. JJ received his Master’s in Construction Management from the University of Florida in 1987.<\/p>\n \tJJ was a big football fan and loved rooting for his Hokes, Gators and Dallas Cowboys.
