The volunteer community is one of the charitable organization\u2019s most important resources. Each year, volunteers save the food bank millions of dollars while helping to feed the DMV community. The WBC Community Services Committee is coordinating this outstanding monthly volunteer opportunity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Capital Food Bank<\/strong><br>DC Distribution Center<br>4900 Puerto Rico Avenue, NE<br>Washington, DC, 20017<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>OPEN TO MEMBERS ONLY<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are looking for volunteers <em>(limit to 10 volunteers per month)<\/em> to help on the following dates:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"mailto:reis@wbcnet.org?subject=WBC%20Capital%20Area%20Food%20Bank%20-%20May%2019&amp;body=I%20would%20like%20to%20volunteer%20to%20the%20Capital%20Food%20Bank%20on%20Thursday%2C%20May%2019%20from%205%3A30%20pm%20to%208%3A00%20pm%3A%0A%0AName%3A%0ACompany%3A%0AEmail%3A%0APhone%3A%0A\"><strong>Thursday, May 19<\/strong><\/a> &#8211; 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm &#8211; HAMMERHEADS ONLY<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"mailto:reis@wbcnet.org?subject=WBC%20Capital%20Area%20Food%20Bank%20-%20June%2025&amp;body=I%20would%20like%20to%20volunteer%20to%20the%20Capital%20Food%20Bank%20on%20Saturday%2C%20June%2025%20from%201%3A00%20pm%20to%204%3A00%20pm%3A%0A%0AName%3A%0ACompany%3A%0AEmail%3A%0APhone%3A%0A\"><strong>Saturday, June 25<\/strong><\/a> &#8211; 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Volunteers must be at least 12 years old!<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>COVID-19<\/strong><br>All volunteers MUST sign a COVID-19 Waiver,&nbsp;click&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/hocps.blob.core.windows.net\/0225\/files\/Update%20COVID%20Volunteer%20Waiver_.pdf\">HERE&nbsp;<\/a>to download the waiver. Volunteer under the age of 18 must have the waiver signed by parent or legal guardian. In accordance with the DC Government and\/or CDC recommendations, all volunteers<strong>&nbsp;<u>MUST BE VACCINATED<\/u><\/strong>&nbsp;and are required to wear a mask or face covering at all times in the facility over their mouth and nose. Due to a limited supply of masks and Capital Area Food Bank is asking volunteers bring their own if possible. Find more information about CDC\u2019s recommendations regarding the use of cloth face coverings&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/prevent-getting-sick\/diy-cloth-face-coverings.html\">HERE<\/a>. All volunteers, guests, and staff are required to have their&nbsp;temperature&nbsp;taken by touchless scanner when entering our facilities.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About Capital Area Food Bank<\/strong><br>The Capital Area Food Bank leads our region\u2019s efforts to provide good, healthy food to people struggling with hunger and food insecurity.
